Adelaide Symphony Orchestra Plays Pink Floyd - Friday 30th June 2006

It was with great excitement that I bought tickets for this show back in March and I wasn't disappointed!

I have a copy of a recording done by the London Symphony a while back which was purely an orchesteral version of mainly works from Dark Side of the Moon. The ASO version however was a feast for the ears.

ASO were joined by a 10 piece band of local Adelaide rock musos. At times I felt the band were overpowering of the Orchestra and could have been mixed a bit lower. There were some moments of brilliance like the Violin solo in Wish You Were Here.

I hear they are going to take this show on the road. Great chance for the rest of Australia I say.
